This year has almost come to an end.

As we thank God joyously, it's actually the time check whether we majored at the minors and minored at the majors.

How would you access your relationship with God this year.

For once, be the examiner.

How would you score yourself?

Prepare now to re-seat for the greatest exam of your life; do you know Jesus?

I pray that this season will not pass before you catch that great revelation of who Jesus is.

TEXT : MATTHEW 1 : 18-21

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Joseph the foster father of Jesus was introduced to his son by the Holy spirit.

He would have backed out of that marriage arrangement but for his divine encounter.

He would have also lost the opportunity of a life time to be forever remembered both here and in eternity as the one who played the fatherly role to our Lord.

As we continue to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, may we seek to know Christ the more in Jesus mighty name.

37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

38 And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Prophetess Anna, knew Jesus by revelation.

She waited for eighty four years in fasting and prayers for the coming of the Messiah.

Who preached to Anna, no one.

Who encouraged Anna, no one.

She encountered Jesus and never went back.

Please ask God to give you a revelation of His son Jesus.

26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

Simeon encountered the Lord Jesus by revelation.

The scripture said in verse 26 that it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death until he has seen the Lord Jesus.

Those who encounter Jesus by revelation do not need to be followed up.

They usually sources of blessing to their pastors, because they make pastoring easy.

May you receive your own revelation of Christ in this season, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

It is a time to separate and keep asking the Father to give you a revelation of the Son.

1 There was a certain man in Cæsarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

CORNELIUS ENCOUNTERED JESUS BY REVELATION.

Cornelius was not a Jew, he was a gentile.

He was outside of the covenant of those to be saved at his time but certain practices gave him an encounter.

This season is not a season of overindulgence in activities that does not add anything to over relationship with Jesus.

It is a time to separate and keep asking the Father to give you a revelation of the Son.

Who is this Jesus?

Is Jesus one of the dead prophets?

Was Jesus a man that discovered another religion?

When you discover Jesus by revelation, you will never forsake him

Apostle Paul was armed with a letter to arrest and bring the followers of Jesus to Jerusalem for destruction.

In Acts 9 the Bible told us how the resurrected Jesus confronted and arrested Apostle Paul the arrestor.

Apostle Paul said in Acts 13-15

13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.

14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.

You can't encounter Jesus and still doubt His divinity.

People still have personal encounters of Jesus Christ.

Today, pray and say; Jesus please reveal yourself to me.

8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:

When it comes to knowing God and His dealings, teaching is good, studying is equally good but the game changer is revelation.

Who is Christ to you?

As we celebrate Christmas today, do you really know who Jesus is?

In the book of Matthew 16 : 13-15, Jesus was seen asking His disciples who do they know Him to be.

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

Peter finally answered by revelation and Jesus said to them, only my father in Heaven could have revealed me to you.

Who preached to the wisemen from far away East.

No one, they caught it by revelation.

39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt

40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

45 Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

Jesus my redeemer was faced with the most challenging burden of all, laying down his life for the redemption of mankind.

He took three of His disciples to a place that is called Gethsemane to help Him intercede in prayer.

Satan was battling to negotiate our salvation, our Savior need the prayer power to fight this horrendous attack.

If God in man's clothing needed prayer for a situation, certainly Pastor Obinna needs prayer so he would not fall.

Any Pastor whose people are not praying for is a disaster that is waiting to happen.

Please House of Faith remember me always in your prayers.

Beloved that is reading this devotional, please pray for your pastors in order to avert the plans of devil.

Satan understands the strategy of striking the shepherd and scattering the flock.

Even though you always run to your Pastor for prayers, what you might be shocked to hear today is that your Pastor seriously needs your prayers.

If the forces of darkness pay your church a visit as they routinely do, who do you think will be the focus of the attack?

It will not be you.

It will be your Pastor, because once he is defeated, the church is finished.

You now see why your Pastor needs prayer more than you do.

When David attacked Goliath, where was his target?

His head.

The head Pastor is the main target, therefore pray fervently for his defense.

If you cannot serve man, you cannot serve God.

As a matter of fact, if today you are not serving a man, you are not serving God.

It's only those who serve men diligently that can serve God fervently.

Beloved, beware of anyone who tells you that your pastors are using you.

Run away from them.

They are planted by Satan to derail and utterly destroy your destiny.

Apostle paul said that Demas deserted him.

Are you deserting your God given duty post and your destined role in God's agenda?

Beloved remember that we will all be judged for our actions and inactions.

Time is actually running out.

May God grant you a revelation of the everlasting benefits in bearing the burden of His house on earth.

11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

These were the words of apostle Paul at a very difficult in his ministrial life.

He said, " Demas has forsaken me" meaning that Demas has deserted him.

He said that Demas deserted him for the love of this present world.

But in verse ten apostle paul said, but Luke alone is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you for he is very profitable in ministry.

ARE YOU A BURDEN OR ARE YOU A BURDEN LIFTER?

ARE YOU PROFITABLE OR PROBLEMATIC.

WOULD YOUR PASTOR BE ABLE TO SAY, THIS ONE IS PROFITABLE FOR ME, FOR MINISTRY.

If you are not lifting his burden, you are adding to his burden?

Remember, every child of God is called to be a burden lifter to his pastor.

When you start to bear kingdom burdens, the list of your problems goes on a reduction mode.

TOPIC : THE POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS

TEXT : PHILIPPIANS 2 : 10

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

THE NAME OF JESUS IS GOD'S SIGNATURE OF AUTHORITY.

In Ephesians 1:20-21, the scriptures talk about rule.

[20]Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],

[21]Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.

Rule here refer to two things.

1) The authority that governs.

2) The decrees by which he governs.

This means that it does not matter what rules had been made or set, Jesus over rules every rule because He is far above all rules, authority, power and dominion.

Therefore, always remember that when you use the name of Jesus, all existing rules, authorities, powers and Dominions opposing your reign bows in the name of Jesus.

THE ONE WHO HAS THE KEY, HAS THE AUTHORITY.

When Jesus appeared to John at Patmos, He said; I am alive forever more and I have the keys of hell and death.

Before Jesus ascended to be seated at the right hand of the father God, our father, He said in MATTHEW 18-19 :

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

[16]For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him.

[17]And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together). [Prov. 8:22-31.]

[18]He also is the Head of [His] body, the church; seeing He is the Beginning, the Firstborn from among the dead, so that He alone in everything and in every respect might occupy the chief place [stand first and be preeminent].

WHY IS THE NAME OF JESUS VERY POWERFUL?

The power in the name of Jesus is not in the spelling or the pronunciation of the name J.E.S.U.S.

The name of Jesus is powerful because of the one who answers it.

The one who the name represents was given all authority in heaven and in the earth.( Matthew 28 : 18)

Jesus is the name by which all things were created.

John 3 : 35

[35]The Father loves the Son and has given (entrusted, committed) everything into His hand.

I sincerely pray for you that the Holy Spirit will grant you by revelation the power in the name of Jesus Christ.

Joel 2 : 32.

32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Jesus Christ is that name.

In Philippians 2 verse 9, the scripture said that God gave Jesus Christ His son a name that is above all other names.

When you call this name, no matter the situation, it must submit to your superior power.

This name in above other names in heaven, on the earth and under the earth.

As you learn to use it, may God give you answers in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

TEXT : JOHN 14 : 12 - 14

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

The name of Jesus is a name that is full power.

The name of Jesus is not a religious emblem that we use to start and end prayers.

It is a 🗝️ key of authority that provokes healings, deliverances and breakthroughs.

Jesus said that if you ask anything in His name, He will do it for you.

It is an emblem of awesome power, more potent than all the electricity generated on the earth.

All that power is designed to work for you.

TEXT : JOHN 16 : 23 - 27

[23]And when that time comes, you will ask nothing of Me [you will need to ask Me no questions]. I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that My Father will grant you whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]. [Exod. 3:14.]

[24]Up to this time you have not asked a [single] thing in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy (gladness, delight) may be full and complete.

[25]I have told you these things in parables (veiled language, allegories, dark sayings); the hour is now coming when I shall no longer speak to you in figures of speech, but I shall tell you about the Father in plain words and openly (without reserve).

[26]At that time you will ask (pray) in My Name; and I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf [for it will be unnecessary].

[27]For the Father Himself [tenderly] loves you because you have loved Me and have believed that I came out from the Father.

THE NAME OF JESUS IS AN OPEN CHEQUE.

God who gave you this open cheque expects you to withdraw from this whenever there is a need.

Jesus said that for so long you have not used this name which has been given to you.

James said in the chapter four of his book that you have not because you ask not.

Jesus declared that it is your right to ask.

I pray for you that from today, you will start to utilize this great gift that God delivered to you for your all round victory in the battles of life in Jesus name.

TEXT : PROVERBS 18 : 10

10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

David challenged Goliath of Gath by a name that is stronger than the name of other God's.

The head of Goliath ended up in the sheppard bag of an armless teenager.

Moses challenged pharaoh and his entire army by the name of Jehovah the God of host.

Pharaoh and his entire force were buried in the red sea.

The philistians captured and carried the Ark of the Lord of host and held it hostage in the coven of Dargon their God.

The next day Dargon was totally defeated and destroyed.

They also paid heavy to voluntarily return the Ark that they thought they had captured.

All the names of the Lord and the powers they carry has been hoisted in the name of Jesus.

That is why the name of Jesus in above every other name.

If you are confronted by demons, use this name.

If you face killers, fearlessly use this name.

If you are attacked by rapists, use this name.

If you are drowning, use this name.

May the Lord give you victory in the performing name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

The scripture said in the book of John 16 : 23-24;

23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower, a hiding place.

It's a place of refuge.

It's the believer's bunker.

Those who put their trust in him shall be like mount Zion that cannot be removed.

Beloved, use that name on the present challenges you are facing, you will come out victoriously.

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

The enemy knows the power in the name of Jesus and bows whenever the name is used.

Witches and wizards, ogboni and all secret cults know the type of power that is in the name of Jesus.

Ogbanje and marine based spirits avoid confrontation with this power.

Whenever they hear this name, it reminds them what Jesus did to their master over two thousand years ago.

How my Jesus made a show of satan's defeat in the streets of hell and triumphed over all principalities and powers.

The effect of the name of Jesus is worse than nuclear weapon when deployed against the forces of hell.

I do not know what is tormenting you today but remember that Jesus also paid for your freedom.

As a child of God you have the authority to use the name of Jesus.

I pray for you that you will learn to use the name of Jesus.

21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know.

The name of the Lord is a saving shield.

The scripture we read said that whosoever names the name of the Lord shall be saved.

The name of Jesus saves from destruction from the kingdom of darkness.

The name of Jesus saves from poverty and lack.

Before he was born it was declared that He would save His people.

Matthew 1 : 21;

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

The wages of death is sin, so Jesus saves us from sin which brings destruction, disease, poverty and shame.

Those who put their trust in this name cannot be put to shame.

I pray for you that you will learn to use the name of Jesus.

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The name of Jesus is the name with the greatest power in heaven and on the earth.

It's like a loaded bazooka.

If you learn how to use it, you can never be stranded in this life.

You are not to use this name in vain.

It's a name loaded with power for our freedom from all manner of crisis.

God gave us this name because He knew that we would face all manner of situations in our lifetime.

I don't know what you are going through today, but if it has a name, it will surrender at the mention of the performing name of Jesus.

TOPIC : THE POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS

TEXT : ACTS 3 : 1 - 10

1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

When the healing of this crippled man went viral, peter and the other disciples were arrested by the high priest and council.

They were asked by what power and by what name did they get the crippled man to walk?

And they answered in Acts 4 : 7-10;

7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

So the high priest even know that names carry power and that everything both living and dead recognize the power in names.

Circumstances, situations and storms recognize names.

Jesus has the name that is above other names.

If right now you are in a bad situation, call that name in faith and you will receive an instant turn around.
