TEXT :  ACTS 16 : 16-18

16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

The enemy knows the power in the name of Jesus and bows whenever the name is used.

Witches and wizards, ogboni and all secret cults know the type of power that is in the name of Jesus.

Ogbanje and marine based spirits avoid confrontation with this power.

Whenever they hear this name, it reminds them what Jesus did to their master over two thousand years ago.

How my Jesus made a show of satan's defeat in the streets of hell and triumphed over all principalities and powers.

The effect of the name of Jesus is worse than nuclear weapon when deployed against the forces of hell.

I do not know what is tormenting you today but remember that Jesus also paid for your freedom.

As a child of God you have the authority to use the name of Jesus.

I pray for you that you will learn to use this all powerful name.

Jesus Christ is that name.

In Philippians 2 verse 9, the scripture said that God gave Jesus Christ His son a name that is above all other names.

When you call this name, no matter the situation, it must submit to your superior power.

This name is above other names in heaven, on the earth and under the earth.

As you learn to use it, may God give you answers in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

[17]And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together). [Prov. 8:22-31.]

[18]He also is the Head of [His] body, the church; seeing He is the Beginning, the Firstborn from among the dead, so that He alone in everything and in every respect might occupy the chief place [stand first and be preeminent].

WHY IS THE NAME OF JESUS VERY POWERFUL?

The power in the name of Jesus is not in the spelling or the pronunciation of the name J.E.S.U.S.

The name of Jesus is powerful because of the one who answers it.

The one who the name represents was given all authority in heaven and in the earth.( Matthew 28 : 18)

Jesus is the name by which all things were created.

John 3 : 35 

[35]The Father loves the Son and has given (entrusted, committed) everything into His hand.

I sincerely pray for you that the Holy Spirit will grant you by revelation the power in the name of Jesus Christ.

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.

THE NAME OF JESUS IS GOD'S SIGNATURE OF AUTHORITY.

In Ephesians 1:20-21, the scriptures talk about rule.

[20]Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],

[21]Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.

Rule here refer to two things.

1) The authority that governs.

2) The decrees by which he governs.

This means that it does not matter what rules had been made or set, Jesus over rules every rule because He is far above all rules, authority, power and dominion.

Therefore, always remember that when you use the name of Jesus, all existing rules, authorities, powers and Dominions opposing your reign bows in the name of Jesus.

10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

David challenged Goliath of Gath by a name that is stronger than the name of his God.

The head of Goliath ended up in the shepherd bag of an armless teenager.

Moses challenged pharaoh and his entire army by the name of Jehovah the Lord of host.

Pharaoh and his entire army were buried in the red sea.

The philistians captured and carried the Ark of the Lord of host and held it hostage in the coven of Dagon their God.

The next day Dagon was totally defeated and destroyed.

They also paid heavily to voluntarily return the Ark that they thought they had captured.

All the names of the Lord and the powers they carry have been hoisted in the name of Jesus.

That is why the name of Jesus in above every other name.

If you are confronted by demons, use this name.

If you face killers, fearlessly use this name.

If you are attacked by rapists, use this name.

If you are drowning, use this name.

3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship

4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught

5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net

6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

In the story from our Bible text for today, peter a professional fisherman had applied the best of his fishing skills but there was no result.

When Jesus stepped into the matter, there was instant divine intervention from headquarters.

That which was naturally impossible yielded to the force of the supernatural.

I declare over your life, may you receive divine intervention in that area of tension in your life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

The Bible said that this man had been in the situation for thirty eight years.

We were not told how old he was or which date that the affliction started.

I do not know when your own case started.

The Lord mighty in battle is and will deliver you in the mighty name of Jesus.

He told Jesus that he had no one to help him because that the water was stared by an Angel once in a day. 

The first person that jumps into the pool is saved.

This man had very serious problems

1. He was crippled.

2.  He had no human helper.

3. He had become frustrated by his condition.

The other picture that he could not see was that Jesus had been watching him.

In that situation remember that you have a compassionate high priest who was tempted like you are ( Hebrews 4 : 15 ).

I prophecy according to the measure of my faith in God, you are coming out of that crippling situation in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

11 And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

The woman in the text above had lost her only son.

Her husband was also dead so her posterity has been swallowed by the devil.

It was a sad day for the city.

The whole city joined her to  mourn her only son.

She needed divine intervention.

But Jesus was watching them.

He went to those carrying the casket and touched it, and the young man woke up.

You might think that God has forgotten your case file.

If you can wait just a little while, you will receive intervention from Heaven, in Jesus mighty name.

36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.37 And it came to pass in those days that she was sick, and died:whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber

38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them 

40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up

41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows presented her alive

42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

The death of Sister Dorcas was not acceptable to her friends.

They refused to accept it.

They needed divine intervention

They heard that a friend of Jesus was in the neighborhood and they invited him to turn their sorrow into joy.

Are you dealing with an issue that needs divine intervention?

Talk to Jesus or look around your neighborhood for one of His friends who will talk to Jesus on your behalf.

Jesus is alive and still does great things.

He will surely do your own.

[39]One of the criminals who was suspended kept up a railing at Him, saying, Are You not the Christ (the Messiah)? Rescue Yourself and us [from death]

[40]But the other one reproved him, saying, Do you not even fear God, seeing you yourself are under the same sentence of condemnation and suffering the same penalty?

[41]And we indeed suffer it justly, receiving the due reward of our actions; but this Man has done nothing out of the way [nothing strange or eccentric or perverse or unreasonable]

[42]Then he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come in Your kingly glory!

[43]And He answered him, Truly I tell you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.

Jesus was on the cross on the way to His father's kingdom when He met a who criminal was condemned to death.

He was a criminal who deserved to end up in hell but he met the Lord of divine intervention.

He said "Lord remember me in your father's kingdom"

Mercy heard him.

Jesus answered him, "Today you shall be with me in paradise".

I do not know how bad and late that case looks.

Maybe it's already at the dying minute, the Lord of divine intervention will change it for you.

TEXT RUTH 1 :15-19

[15]And Naomi said, See, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.

[16]And Ruth said, Urge me not to leave you or to turn back from following you; for where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people and your God my God.

[17]Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts me from you.

[18]When Naomi saw that Ruth was determined to go with her, she said no more.

[19]So they both went on until they came to Bethlehem. And when they arrived in Bethlehem, the whole town was stirred about them, and said, Is this Naomi?

This story is not typically about Naomi, but the story of one of the greatest exploits of faith and stubbornness of hope.

It is the fact that hope has an eye that can see beyond the darkness of the moment.

It is the story of a resilient spirit that refused to rest until she received the manifestation of that which she could see only with the eyes of hope.

Ruth was determined not to leave the periphery of her destiny even though no prophet, big or small prophesied her role in the birth of the Messiah.

She captured it by dedication and a unique kind of compassion.

She could have dumped Naomi like a used piece of toilet tissue like most people we meet in life.

When they are done using you, they dump you.

You might have nurtured them like your own babies but as soon as they have wings, they fly away.

Ministry is some times like nursing baby vipers that can never repent from striking their rescuer.

Ruth was rewarded by the great rewarder.

She became one of the greatest women in history.

You too can be heroic in devotion and service until you are remembered for your stubborn faith.

Refuse to be a predator of the godly.

[32]He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

[33]And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

[34]Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

[35]And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

[37]For with God nothing shall be impossible.

[38]And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

When the Holy spirit said to Mary that she shall conceive in her womb, realize that if you are a man, in the same way that Mary conceived you have a womb in your spirit.

God expects us to conceive great things whenever His words mingle with our spirit.

His word is living and active.

His word is life and spirit.

They are not just letters, they are alive.

They can change any disturbing situation in your life.

God's word can be trusted, it has never fail.

[10]For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

[11]For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Confession is the use of your mouth to verbally declare your faith.

Confession is made unto salvation, soteria is the Greek word for salvation, meaning everything good.

Which means, with your faith you can purchase for yourself everything that is good.

Are you ashamed to declare your faith publicly? The Psalmist declared in Psalms 34:1-2 that he will make his boast in the Lord.

"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad."

Don't stop talking until you start seeing the real you from God's own picture, the Bible.

Faith is mixing God's word with unfettered believing.

Unbelief is the biggest killer of manifestation.

You may not need to know all the scriptures. The key question is are you mixing the ones you know with your faith.

When God's word is mixed with faith, so much power is generated.

[34]Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Faith is a supreme shield.

Carrying faith, you will become invisible to your enemies.

You will become an issue that they cannot handle.

Faith makes you always a winner.

You are never disadvantaged.

Faith brings unseen heavenly warriors to your aid in the event of battles.

I see God fighting your toughest battles in Jesus mighty name.

TOPIC : A FORCE CALLED FAITH

TEXT   HEBREWS 11:32-34

[32]And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

[33]Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

[34]Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Beloved, the bible said in verse 34 that out of weakness, they were made strong.

Faith is a cloak that converts weakness to strength.

It's a miracle tonic that turns the weak into valiant worriors.

It is an instrument that energizes the bearer.

They quenched the violence of fire, they waxed valiant in fight and turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

You may be going through financial fire, marital fire or health fire, but the weapon of faith will quench the fire.

Faith will turn you to a man with strange but rugged potentials.

TEXT   HEBREWS 11:32-33

All promises of the scriptures are obtained by the deployment of faith.

Without faith, no one can please God.

Blind Bartimaeus  cried out in faith, "Jesus son of David, have mercy on me".

His faith was strong enough to obtain the promise that those who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

He call on the name of the Lord and the Lord heard him and delivered him.

I do not know the promise that you are trusting God for.

The scripture said that none shall be barren in the land.

Those that call His name shall not be ashamed.

Even though He was rich, He because poor that you would be rich.

May Jehovah answer you in Jesus mighty name.

TOPIC : A FORCE CALLED FAITH

TEXT    JOHN 2:5,7-10

[5]His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

[7]Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

[8]And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.

[9]When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

[10]And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

FAITH RESULTS WHERE THE WRITTEN WORD COLLIDES WITH OBEDIENCE.

Have you ever wondered at what point the water turned into wine?

Have you ever imagined what the servants went through knowing that they might actually be carrying water instead of wine to the governor of the occasion?

Have you ever imagined  the consequences of such insult?

Giving dirty water to the governor of the occasion if the water never turned into wine.

If you were one of those servants, wouldn't you have asked that you wait for the water to turn to wine before serving it to the guests?

Faith obeys God's instructions without trying to reason it out.

Beloved, remember that God who is called the ancient of days is older than all men, wiser than all men and smarter than all men.

He knows the right direction to your destiny.

God bless you.
