TOPIC :  UNDERSTANDING LOYALTY

 (Special edition)

TEXT: 2  SAMUEL 24:1-15

JESUS' PROOF OF KNOWING HIS FATHER

a) He hears from his Father

"I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him" - John 8:26.

b) He sees from his Father

Jesus said he was with his Father and saw all that he did and is still doing. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do: for what things soever he does, these also does the Son likewise - John 5:19.

The loyalty of Jesus was clearly demonstrated by His doing only what He sees His Father do.

Do you do things the way your leader does them.

c) He  knows his Father's will

Doing the will of the person under whom you serve is being loyal to him. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me - John 6:38.

You may not like the will of your boss sometimes. But doing it is called loyalty. David told Joab his army commander to go and count Israel. Joab expressed his disagreement to David's decision and said: but why does my lord the king delight in this thing? - 2 Samuel 24:3.

Though Joab didn't like the idea, yet he obeyed him because he was loyal to him. Notwithstanding the king's word prevailed against Joab, and against the captains of the host. And Joab and the captains of the host went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Israel - 2 Samuel 24:4.

Loyalty is doing the will of the person you serve. David told Joab to send Uriah to the hottest part of the battle.  Joab did just that. You may disagree with your boss but you have no choice if you're loyal to him.

Later, God punished David not Joab who obeyed him, for killing Uriah and for counting Israel. God didn't hold Joab vicariously liable for the orders he took from David because God knows the tenets of loyalty.

Always remember this, your promotion under any superior lies in your loyalty to him.

God bless you.

With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.

Your case is not bigger than God.

May you have a God filled day in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

BEFORE YOU STEP OUT TODAY MONDAY 07/03/2022

TOPIC : UNDERSTANDING LOYALTY

TEXT :  LUKE 10:38-42

Loyalty refers to the submission of the heart to someone else for the achievement of a certain goal.

1. KNOW HIM WELL

The foundation of loyalty is knowing the person you are serving very well. There are people whose loyalty is dented by their thinking that they know their work.

Yes you may know your work; but without knowing the one under whom you serve, you will struggle with loyalty.

Beloved, our loyalty to God will not be remarkable unless we know the God we are serving.

How do you know a person? You know a person from what he has, what he does, what he says, where he stays and what he likes etc.

Jesus was loyal to his Father because he knows him. I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying - John 8:55.

Jesus said he knows his Father and he keeps his saying. Because he knows his Father he was able to please him. And he that sent me is with me: the Father has not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him - John 8:29.

Jesus knew his Father because he was with him. As a result, when he chose his apostles, he brought them to be with him so they also would know him. And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach - Mark 3:14.

Many today are struggling with loyalty to those under whom they serve because they do not know them.

Jesus was a guest in Martha's house. Without hearing from Jesus, Martha went to prepare food for Jesus. But her sister Mary was with Jesus, listening to him teaching.

When Martha complained about her sister not coming to help her, Jesus said: Martha, Martha, you are careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her - Luke 10:41-42.

Like Martha, many are loyal only to their work yet they expect approval and promotion from their bosses. Mary chose the good part because she has esteemed the words of his mouth more than her necessary food - Job 23:12. Know your master. That's where your loyalty to him begins.

Know this, serving a person without knowing him is like trying to cook your food without fire.

God bless you.

With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.

Your case is not bigger than God.

May you have a God filled day in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

TOPIC :  PRIDE, A DESTINY KILLER

TEXT : 1 SAMUEL 15:16-20,22-30

[16]Then Samuel said to Saul, Stop! I will tell you what the Lord said to me tonight. Saul said to him, Say on.

[17]Samuel said, When you were small in your own sight, were you not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord anointed you king over Israel?

[18]And the Lord sent you on a mission and said, Go, utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites; and fight against them until they are consumed.

[19]Why then did you not obey the voice of the Lord, but swooped down upon the plunder and did evil in the Lord's sight?

[20]Saul said to Samuel, Yes, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag king of Amalek and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

[22]Samuel said, Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

[23]For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim (household good luck images). Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.

[24]And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.

[25]Now, I pray you, pardon my sin and go back with me, that I may worship the Lord.

[30]Saul said, I have sinned; yet honor me now, I pray you, before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord your God.

Beloved, whenever I study the fall of Saul, I weep over and over again.

His fall was occasioned by pride and stubbornness.

He was only bordered about people opinion of him.

Even when Samuel had told him that God had rejected him, all he wanted was for people to see him with Samuel.

I believe that pride made king Saul mad.

David would have fallen down and asked God for forgiveness.

He would have wept and fasted.

He would have obtained forgiveness upon the platform of repentance.

Pride blinded Saul and he ended up like one who was never anointed.

Reject pride with all your strength in Jesus mighty name.

God bless you.

With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.

Your case is not bigger than God.

TOPIC :  PRIDE, A DESTINY KILLER

TEXT  2 CHRONICLES 26:16-20

[16]But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

[17]And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men:

[18]And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God.

[19]Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar.

[20]And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.

King Uzziah's story was one of the most beautiful stories in the bible.

He started very wonderfully.

He became king at the age of sixteen and did so well.

The bible recorded that as long as he served God, God helped him until he became very strong.

When he became strong, pride entered into him and he became puffed up and  destroyed himself.

That will not be your portion in Jesus mighty name.

God bless you.

With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.

Your case is not bigger than God.

May you have a God filled day in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

TOPIC :  PRIDE, A DESTINY KILLER

TEXT : DANIEL 4:29-32

[29]At the end of twelve months he was walking in the royal palace of Babylon.

[30]The king said, Is not this the great Babylon that I have built as the royal residence and seat of government by the might of my power and for the honor and glory of my majesty?

[31]While the words were still in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: The kingdom has departed from you,

[32]And you shall be driven from among men and your dwelling will be with the living creatures of the field. You will be made to eat grass like the oxen, and seven times [or years] shall pass over you until you have learned and know that the Most High [God] rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever He will.

Dearly beloved, the story of Nebuchadnezzar is an example of what level of devastation pride could wreck in the life of a man.

Pride drove king Nebuchadnezzar away from the dwellings of normal people.

This means that each time we allow that evil spirit called pride to possess us, we  undergo a transformation from being a man to a beast.

The major reason that makes God to hate

Pride is because,

It drains one of human emotions and leaves him absolutely Godless.

It is a beastial spirit that drives the carrier towards the high way to hell.

Pray daily against the spirit of pride.

God bless you.

With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.

Your case is not bigger than God.

TOPIC :  PRIDE, A DESTINY KILLER

TEXT  2 Timothy 3:2-5

[2]For people will be lovers of self and [utterly] self-centered, lovers of money and aroused by an inordinate [greedy] desire for wealth, proud and arrogant and contemptuous boasters. They will be abusive (blasphemous, scoffing), disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane.

[3][They will be] without natural [human] affection (callous and inhuman), relentless (admitting of no truce or appeasement); [they will be] slanderers (false accusers, troublemakers), intemperate and loose in morals and conduct, uncontrolled and fierce, haters of good.

[4][They will be] treacherous [betrayers], rash, [and] inflated with self-conceit. [They will be] lovers of sensual pleasures and vain amusements more than and rather than lovers of God.

Beloved all you have read in the highlighted  verses are either the evidence of pride or the result of pride.

To prevail in the battles of life, you need the help of God.

Pride removes you from receiving the help and mercy of God.

It makes you an enemy of God.

Repent from the sin of pride and start receiving the help of God in Jesus mighty name.

God bless you.

TEXT 1 JOHN 2:15-16

[15]Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

[16]For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Dearly beloved, the pride of life is that assurance in one's own resources or in the stability of earthly things, these do not come from the Father but are from the world, it's a huge satanic deception.

Pride makes you imagine that you are God's senior brother.

Have you seen some of these celebrities being guarded by squads of fiercely looking security men?

Many of them actually see themselves as super mortals and end up being destroyed because pride makes you a lesser mortal..

Learn from Jesus who is God but humbled Himself and was born in a manger because it was crucial for His assignment.

God bless you.

With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.

Your case is not bigger than God.
