[25]And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kirharaseth left they the stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it.

[26]And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not.

[27]Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.

Beloved, there are scriptural methods of activating new seasons.

No season is permanent but if you have overstayed in a season, you can push that season away.

One of the most effective ways of doing this is by the use of sacrifice.

When the king of Moab saw that the battle was totally against him, he took one hundred of his elite force, but they were roundly defeated.

Then he reared a fearful sacrifice and even God abandoned His stingy children.

Have you been held down by forces that seem stronger than you are?

Pull out your best and give it to God and you will God intervene in a mysterious way.

TEXT: 1 SAMUEL 7:10-13

[10]And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.

[11]And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Bethcar.

[12]Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.

[13]So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

The Philistians were a people who insisted on frustrating the nation of Israel.

They were their destiny adversary as it were.

They made life misrable for God's children and succeeded in destroying their confidence.

The Ark of the Lord had just been returned to Israel, yet they would not let them rest.

Some enemies are like that. They would want to buffet and frustrate you all your days, but I have good news for you. The Lord said in Psalms 125 verse 3,

"For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous".

God has an emergency excape plan for you, shout Alleluyah.

In verse 7, as the Philistians lunched their unprovoked attack and the children of Israel cry unto Samuel.

 Samuel offered a sacrifice unto the Lord, AND THE LORD THUNDERED WITH A GREAT THUNDER ON THAT DAY UPON THE PHILISTIANS.

The bible recorded that they were discomfited and we're smitten before Israel.

Sacrifice creates a buffer zone.

It creates an invisible  demarcation between God's people and His enemies.

Sacrifice invokes the anger of the Lord against your enemies.

For someone reading this devotional,This will be the faith of all your enemies in Jesus mighty name

[31]And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

[32]He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

[33]And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

[34]Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

[35]And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Beloved, the Lord sent an Angel to Mary, an unmarried virgin and told her that she was 

going to have a baby.

This was going to happen without a husband.

She was aghast.

It sounded so unreal and impossible, but Gabriel was coming from the presence of the Lord.

There is something transformational about the presence of God.

It was in His presence that  dried Aaron"s staff budded. 

That staff was an old sheppered's staff. It received life supernaturaly like the womb of Elizabeth.

Mary's womb received power to conceive by the energy of the Holy spirit.

It was a supernatural conception.

Anything carrying the barge of delay and shame in your life today comes under a curse in Jesus mighty name.

[13]But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

[14]And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

[18]And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

[19]And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

Zachariah was a priest who dedicated all his life in the service of Jehovah.

He was a just and holy man, but his wife could not conceive a baby.

They had asked for babies in their younger days but had deleted it from there list of needs.

They were not angry with God, they just gave up in the belief that that was not in the plan of God for their lives.

There was no expectation nor faith for this miracle, but God is faithful.

Zachariah who was an old priest, asked the angel, " how can this be knowing, that I am an old man and my wife is striken with age?"

Angel Gabriel was shocked at Zachariah's level of doubt that he made  Zacharia dumb to avoid him aborting the miracle with his mouth.

In Luke 1:19, Gabriel declared, 

" I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; "

Gabriel meant that he was coming from a realm where everything is possible.

I do not know where the enemy has held you down for years,  but if I be a man of God, I declare your freedom from every harassment of the wicked now in Jesus mighty name.

[2]Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man's name upon his rod.

[3]And thou shalt write Aaron's name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.

[4]And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you.

[7]And Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the tabernacle of witness.

[8]And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.

Beloved, it takes the almond tree between five to twelve years before it produces it's first fruit.

This is the natural and botanical calculation which it always obeys.

But things don't go just one way.

There is also the supernatural dimension of life.

This was the dimension that Moses  activated and compressed time so much that what was supposed to happen in twelve years, happened in twenty four hours.

Many may not believe this but it happened.

It was not fiction, it was documented by historians.

It happened in real life .

Why people don't exit their storms quickly is because they do not believe.

"For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world."(Hebrews 4 v 3).

Listen to what God said in Hebrews 4:2

"For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it."

Beloved, if you believe, today that storm will relocate.

It's a new day.

[19]Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.

[20]And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?

[21]Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.

[22]My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

[24]And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.

[26]I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.

[27]He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

[28]So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

Beloved,  Daniel was distinguished above his contemporaries  because an excellent spirit was in him, and the king decided to set him over the whole federation.

Then his colleagues  tried to set him up, but could not.

They then brought a serious accusation against him concerning the kingdom, but they could not find any fault, because he was faithful.

They then decided to use the ego of the king to destroy Daniel.

Knowing that Daniel prays to his God who is in heaven many times daily, they convinced the king to make a law against anyone who would not worship his carved image would be killed.

When Daniel was thrown into the den of lions, God sealed the mouths of the lions and the king promoted Daniel.

This door of affliction, will soon turn into your door of promotion in Jesus mighty name.

[25]He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

[26]Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

[27]And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

[30]Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

Beloved, there are times when the doors that ushered in our affliction becomes the doors to our promotion.

No one enjoy pains, but we must develop the inert ability to convert our pains into real gains.

We serve a God of purpose who will never permit abuse, not even the abuse of our tears.

He knew before creation why He permitted the divorce, the loss of money, loss of a spouse, loss of children and loss of businesses.

Beloved, realize that no loss is the end of your life. 

it was for a lesson and lessons are for promotions if passed.

King Nebuchadenezzer  promoted the Hebrew youths because he had never seen men go through fire and come out without being burnt.

The door of that affliction opened their door of promotion.

Ask God for sensitivity to know the doors that God has opened for your promotion, in Jesus mighty name.
