TOPIC : THE CREATIVE POWER OF PRAYER

TEXT PSALM 86:6-10 

[6]Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.

[7]In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.

[8]Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.

[9]All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.

[10]For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.

Dearly beloved, there are times we need to bring total worship to our God.

Responsibility is a sign of maturity.

As we grow closer to the Lord, the content of our prayers begin to change.

Our prayer language also begin to change.

When our prayers begin to align with God's divine plan for His earth, we are maturing in sons of God from children of God.

It is at this point that God begins to hand over responsibilities to us because we have become partners with our maker.

What type of prayers do you pray?

Are your prayers all need oriented, are they all about you?

Begin to pray like Jesus did, "thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven".

TEXT DEUTERONOMY 9:24-28

[24]Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.

[25]Thus I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because the LORD had said he would destroy you.

[26]I prayed therefore unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

[27]Remember thy servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not unto the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin:

[28]Lest the land whence thou broughtest us out say, Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them, and because he hated them, he hath brought them out to slay them in the wilderness.

Dearly beloved, have you ever prayed like this before?

when was the last time you prayed for things and people outside of your needs?

Have you ever prayed for the plans and purposes of God on the earth?

When was the last time you prayed that the darkness in our world should reduce.

If all your prayers are about you, your needs, your children's needs and your family's needs, you are but a baby in the realm of the spirit.

When you start praying for the agenda of God upon His earth, you will suddenly realize that your prayer list will begin to reduce drastically.

All the patriarchs had no personal prayer needs because Elshaddai took over their needs which He made His own.

God can do the same with you if you change your prayer patterns and your petitions.

God bless you.

TEXT DANIEL 10:10-14

[10]And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.

[11]And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.

[12]Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

[13]But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

Daniel had been fasting and praying  for three weeks before this intervention occurred.

Daniel was shocked to hear from the angel that his prayer was answered on the very first day.

So why was there no performance?

Because a governing principality, the prince  of Persia withheld the angel who was bringing the answer.

This is why we should never give up in prayer.

A Christian's continuous prayer is his demonstration of confidence on our father's dependability.

In Luke 18:1 Jesus stated these,

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Beloved, when we get home, many will weep when they realize that the technology of prayer is such that all prayers get answered.

The only prayers that are not answered are the ones we give up on.

I have had prayers that got answered the same day, some same month and some others same year.

I have also had a prayer that I got the answer after thirteen years.

Don't give up, your own answer is on the way.

TEXT HEBREW 4:14-16

[14]Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

[15]For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

[16]Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

What is prayer?

Prayer is not merely a dialogue.

It is more of a relationship, an intercourse not a monologue.

In Genesis 3, the Bible said that the voice of Elohim was walking in the cool of the morning in the garden of Eden.

Adam and Eve hid themselves because they had had intercourse with another spirit, this intercourse stripped them naked and they hid themselves.

That intercourse introduced into them the spirit of fear.

To the christian, prayer is an expression of total worship towards God.

It's the demonstration of very deep heart felt love towards God.

Our Deity expects us to always come to Him with boldness.

He assures us of His compassion and understanding of our weaknesses and obvious human frailty.

We become strong when we mingle with Him.

He deposits in us what He carries.

He carries love, total power, total wisdom and pure knowledge.

Whoever does not pray is but a puppet in the hands of demonic spirits.

They are merciless and will continue to abuse all the privileges of such christian.

Wake up, oh ye that sleepeth 

God bless you.
