TOPIC : A CHRISTIANITY WITHOUT CROSS

TEXT   MATTHEW 16 :24-27

[24]Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

[25]For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

[26]For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

[27]For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

There is a strange form of Christianity that we have received.

This Christianity is a type that denys the sufferings of Christ.

But without the sufferings of Christ, there would have been no glory.

Behind the cross is the power.

If you deny the cross, you have rejected the power and the glory therein.

Apostle Paul speaking his sufferings in (2 Corinthians 11v 25-27) 

[25]Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

[26]In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

[27]In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

If our hero of faith apostle Paul went through this then it's obvious that there is a cross for anyone who will follow Jesus.

I pray that God will grant you the grace to carry your cross in Jesus mighty name.
