TOPIC : THE PAIN OF BETRAYAL
(Special edition)
TEXT :2 SAMUEL 15:3-6
[3]And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee.
[4]Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!
[5]And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him.
[6]And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.
Absalom employed deception in order to steal the hearts of the people away from his anointed father.
Someone once told a friend of mine that if he was anointed, that one of his pastors would not have been able to connive with some other to damage the work.
My friend was broken and shattered.
I laughed and asked him who was the most anointed being in the universe, he answered God.
How could Satan pull such stunts in Heaven?
Betrayal happens because of trust and confidence bestowed on another.
I told my friend that he is not more anointed than God who anoints all.
All betrayers end badly.
In 2 Samuel 18:9, the Bible stated thus concerning Absalom.
[9]And Absalom met the servants of David. And Absalom rode upon a mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went away.
The evil forces of vengeance which he kindled hung him on a tree making him a cheap target for his enemies to execute.
Refuse to be used as a sword against a friend.
