TOPIC : ITS TIME FOR A NEW BEGINNING
TEXT : 1 TIMOTHY 6:10-12
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Beloved, this year is a remarkable one in the plans of God.
Many saints of God will have their faith dangerously challenged.
Many will face betrayals, while others will face desertations.
Apostle Paul cried in 2 Timothy 4v10, " For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica;".
You may come under intense pressure to follow the world, but refuse to exchange your faith for the pleasures of this temporal world.
To fight the good fight of faith means that we abide in the word by faith, regardless of what we face, feel or think.
In Romans12 verse
21, the bible says, Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
This means that we will battle and wrestle with negative passions and desires.
We will be faced by strong and overwhelming temptations to sin but the bible says that we should not be overcome by evil which means that we have an inbuilt capacity to resist sin.
We have a helper that dwells in us, the Holy spirit or Allows Parakletos. The bible says in Romans 8:13-14,
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
This is a year that my life will prove that one with God is majority.
I will fight the good fight of faith and victory will surely be mine.
