TOPIC : ITS TIME FOR A NEW BEGINNING
THE CONSEQUENCES OF REBELLION.
TEXT JOSHUA 6: 16-18
16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
17 And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
Joshua 7 :1
1 But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.
The Lord hates rebellion so much and had to punish Achan so severely because rebellion does not only weaken the actors, it also weakens the whole body.
Israel had taken on a giant nation, Jericho and defeated them but were badly beaten by a far smaller nation, Ai.
Israel was defeated because Achan weaken the defense of the body with the sin of rebellion.
Do not be weak end through the enemy enters into your ministry, family or business.
Begin to grow muscles in the spirit by engaging in serious spiritual exercises.
After a while you will be glad that you have become a person that Satan can no longer mess up with.
