TEXT ACTS 1:16-20

TOPIC : PILLARS OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD

[16]Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

[17]For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

[18]Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

[19]And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

[20]For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

Beloved, the manner in which Judas Iscariot ended his ministry, still brings tears to my eyes.

Judas was one of the first twelve that Jesus chose to pass over to them the mysteries of the kingdom of God.

 Beloved, it matters more how we ended than how we started.

We need to be conscious of the fact that in the kingdom's team, there are no permanent jerseys,

Anybody can be replaced.

Judas ended his ministry in shame and disgrace.

He ended as an eternal warning for posterity.

Dearly beloved, do your work as if you have only this hour to fulfill it.

Ensure also that you get to the finishing line.

[13]And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered.

[14]For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.

[18]And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;

[19]And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.

[20]And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient

[22]And Moses did as the LORD commanded him: and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation:

[23]And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.

Dearly beloved, one of my lowest points in my study of the bible was the rejection of Moses.

I personally felt that he did so much that he should be forgiven and allowed to get to the finishing line, but that was my humanity playing out.

Moses' rejection taught us a principle from the bible.

This principle is that the higher you move with God, the more He expects of you.

God expects you to grow as you relate with Him.

He expects a higher level of spirituality, knowledge and wisdom from you.

Moses might not know that while he was working that God was preparing a replacement.

This is because the kingdom project cannot fail.

Beloved, how are you handling your role?

How are you handling your assignment?

Do you realize that we all can be replaced, including you?

Refuse to let another receive your crown.

[14]And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

[15]And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:

[16]And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.

Beloved, guard your heart with great care.

Refuse to permit frustration and strife build a mansion in your heart.

Elijah was so frustrated that he went to God and began to complain that he was the only prophet remaining in the land, God immediately asked Elijah to go and anoint Elisha to replace him.

It's a privilege to serve God, never serve God with a complaining defaced heart.

There are things that are strange in the kingdom of God, one of such is frustration.

God commanded him to go appoint a replacement.

Beloved, do not serve God with a bitter heart because you can be replaced.

Beloved, why God is telling you to man your post diligently is because many have lost their roles and ultimately, their reward.

The reward of having power over nations is only for those who remained overcomers until the end.

God plants us in kingdom families on earth.

We are to function as pillars in these families, these families are the different churches of God on the earth.

Whenever God looks at the earth, He see the church families.

He expects His children to be active laboring for these different families.

Are you a pillar in your father's house?

TOPIC : PILLARS OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD

[25]But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

[26]And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

Beloved, God has a kingdom which is indestructible.

This kingdom has an embassy on the earth.

This embassy is the church, and Jesus Christ is the head.

God sent His children to the earth through the church, and assigned to them different roles to play in other to build the kingdom on earth.

The big challenge here is that many of God's children do not even know that they are on an assignment.

They do not know that they have a role in the kingdom of their father.

The Lord Jesus Himself adviced that you should hold fast until He comes.

He said that there is a reward for the people who continue to overcome untill the end. 

He promised them power over nations.

The Lord also warned them, to carefully hold unto what has been given to them so that someone else would not take their crown.

The bible declared in Revelation 3:1,

*"Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown"*

Therefore it is possible for people to lose the place.

Beloved, refuse to be shoved off your eternal inheritance in Jesus mighty name.

[12]And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

[13]And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

[14]And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?

Gideon was a liberator who saw himself as a captive.

He was fearful and saw himself and his people as being utterly forsaken.

It took an angelic visitation for Gdeon to realize who he was.

He did not know that he was the captain of the Lord's army.

That single visitation revealed to Gideon his true identity.

He immediately sprang from nobody to somebody, 

From the backside of the wilderness to the palace.

You can become like Gideon if you discover who you are. 

When you search out your real identity, you will become a person that can withstand the worst that the Satan can throw at you.

[18]And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Beloved, what happened the day you became born again is that you had an identity change.

This identity change turned you into a spirit being.

You are no longer who you used to be.

You are now a god.

Psalms 82:5-7

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. (psalm 82:5-7)

There is a High consequence for not knowing who you are.

You can die like mere men when you are a god.

WHO ARE YOU?

You are a spirit that lives in a physical body.

As a spirit, no situation on this earth  is permitted to overwhelm you.

TOPIC : IDENTITY AND PREDESTINATION

1 Peter 2:9

[9]But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

There was this incident that happened in a hospital in Japan many years ago.

Two boys born the same day to different parents were erroneously switched to different parents.

The one from a poor single mother was sent to the home of a wealthy realtor while their own baby was sent to the poor single mother.

While one was raised in ambience and had private tutors, went to the best schools the other one grew up with very few options in life.

He struggled to make ends meet and ended up modest.

Sixty years latter a DNA text revealed the error, the hospital was asked to pay the man $300,000 in compensation.

Beloved, imagine how the boy who was raised up in the wealthy home faced life. 

He would have gone through life with the mind set and mentality that his father has got everything under control.

 The one that was raised in the poor home would have faced life with a different mind set, the " I have no one to help me" mentality.

Aren't we all like this  man with a supper-rich parentage that was raised by the poor single mother.

The difference between the two men and the out comes in life was basically their identity.

Do you really know who you are?

In 1 Peter 2:9, the Holy spirit revealed to us who we are.

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light"

[25]And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.

[26]And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

[27]And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.

[28]And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

The name Jacob means supplanter. Jacob had a name that kept him away from the blessings of God.

Even though he stole his brothers blessing, he could not prosper because he had an identity problem.

Jacob didn't have to steal his brothers blessing if he knew who he was.

By agreeing with his mother to help God, they destroyed permanently the peace of their home.

His brother never saw eye to eye with his mother.

Jocob became a fugitive and his mother never saw him again, therefore by that singular act, she lost her two children.

On this special night, Jacob wrestled in prayer with an angel who revealed his true identity to him.

If he had known that he was a man who prevailed over the terrestrials and celestials, he would not have stolen what he already had.

[13]When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

Dearly beloved, when Jesus came to the coast of caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples who people say He was?

Who do people know you to be?

Billy Graham once told a story about Albert Einstein.

He said that Einstein was in a train travelling to a certain destination. Then the conductor began to move from seat to seat checking for tickets.

Einstein searched but could not find his ticket. When the conductor came to him, he said to Einstein, Einstein searched his pockets but could not find it.

The conductor then said to Albert Einstein,   I know you. Don't bother looking for it, you cannot cheat us.

I know who you are, just that you cannot find your ticket.

The question today is, who do people know you to be?

What can they say about you?

Today I find many people including believers saying things like, I don't care what people say about me.

If our Lord Jesus cared, then I think that we should also care.

Always remember that the sinners do not study the bible, your life is the bible they study.

[16]Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.

[17]If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

[18]But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

There is a popular saying that is almost becoming a dictum, if you can't win them, join them.

That is what is governing current behaviour.

But beloved, speed is not an advantage when you are headed in the wrong direction.

The major reason for considering joining the deviants is identity crisis.

The three Hebrew young men knew who they were, they also knew who their God was.

They knew that they served a  God that was alive. 

If they had made that boast in error, they would have lost their heads.

Dearly beloved, if any person is ingrafted in Christ the Messiah he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come! (2 corinthians 5:17).

Do you realize that so many good things are said about this new creation.

In 1 Peter 2:9, God described you as His special Baby.

How do you see yourself?

Do you really see yourself as a royalty that you are?

Dearly beloved, we are now the children of God. We are not going to become gods, we are already gods because we are children of the living God.

Beloved, the whole of creation is waiting for God children to appear on the scene in order to undo all the wickedness that Satan and his host has unleashed on our world.

"For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God." (Romans 8:19)

Beloved, now that you know that you are a child of God and a police man for Heaven, begin to untie every chain, undo every evil, judge every wickedness that they have done against the destiny of everyone around you.

[10]And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

[11]And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

Self-discovery is the number one key to reaching your destiny.

Until you discover who you are, you cannot uncover to recover your place in destiny.

It is actually your discovery that determines your recovery.

Imagine exerting all your energy working as a business man with minimal result, only to discover at the end of your life that you were born to bear the mantle of Benny Hinn.

Beloved, no devil in hell can stop your destiny once you have discovered who you are.

Your real self is the God that is resident in you.

In our highlighted scriptures, Joseph's brothers were so envious of him that they stripped him of his coat of many colors, but they could not strip him off his colorful destiny.

The big question staring at each one of us is, How can I discover who I am?

We can only  discover who we are from the pages of the scripture.

The bible said in Luke 4:17-19,

"And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

]The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

[19]To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

If the Lord Jesus  discovered His' from the scriptures, yours will also be found in the pages of the bible.

[11]And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

Self-discovery is the number one key to reaching your destiny.

Until you discover who you are, you cannot uncover to recover your place in destiny.

It is actually your discovery that determines your recovery.

Beloved, no devil in hell can stop your destiny once you have discovered who you are.

Your real self is the God that is resident in you.

Joseph's brothers were so envious of him that they stripped him of his coat of many colors, but they could not strip him of his colorful destiny.

How can I discover who I am?

It can only be discovered from the pages of the scripture.

The bible said in Luke 4:17-19,

"And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

]The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

[19]To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

If the Lord Jesus  discovered His from the scripture, yours will also be found in the pages of the bible.

[13]When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

Dearly beloved, when Jesus came to the coast of caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples who people say He was?

Who do people know you to be?

Billy Graham once told a story about Albert Einstein.

He said that Einstein was in a train travelling to a certain destination. Then the conductor began to move from seat to seat checking for tickets.

Einstein searched but could not find his ticket. When the conductor came to  Einstein, Einstein continued to search his pockets but could not find it.

The conductor then said to Albert Einstein,   I know you. Don't bother looking for it, you cannot cheat us.

I know who you are, just that you cannot find your ticket.

The question today is, who do people know you to be?

What can they say about you?

Today I find many people including believers saying things like, I don't care what people say about me.

If our Lord Jesus cared, then I think that we should also care.

Always remember that the sinners do not study the bible, your life is the bible they study.

[25]And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.

[26]And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

[27]And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.

[28]And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

[29]And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.

[30]And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

Dearly beloved, this was a day when Heaven gave a mortal man a new name and also declared onto him that he had prevailed.

Imagine if you were Jacob, hearing that you had prevailed over man and God?

You would definitely begin to see yourself differently.

The truth is that concerning you, there is also a similar announcement from heaven in 1 Peter 2:9,

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:"

Beloved, step out this morning with this mind set and your life will begin to show a difference.

[12]But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

[13]Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Beloved, the day you received Christ, you were given the power to become a child of God.

The very moment you believed, there was a migration that took place inside of your human spirit.

When this happened to you, you instantly became a child of God, a baby of the Monarch of the whole universe.

You become the baby of the commander of the billions of angels that traverse the whole earth.

Beloved, never forget that whenever a lizard is to give birth, we expect to see a baby lizard. 

When a dog gives birth, she delivers a puppy.

Same way, when a God gives birth, we expect to see a god.

In the book of John 10:34-35,37,

'Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not".

Birds have one major natural characteristic, they fly.

The fish also has one, they swim.

What is the major characteristic of God,

God is permanently in control of every situation, so His children must also be in control of every situation that arises around them.

We run this earth, the earth does not run us?  does it make sense to you?

[17]Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

[18]And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Beloved, what happened the day you became born again is that you had an identity change.

This identity change turned you into a spirit being.

You are no longer who you used to be.

You are now a god.

Psalms 82:5-7

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. (psalm 82:5-7)

There is a huge consequence for not knowing who you are.

You can die like mere men when you are a god.

WHO ARE YOU?

You are a spirit that lives in a physical body.

As a spirit, no situation on this earth  is permitted to overwhelm you.
