TEXT GENESIS 32:24-28
TOPIC : IDENTITY AND PREDESTINATION
[24]And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
[25]And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
[26]And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
[27]And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
[28]And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
The name Jacob means supplanter. Jacob had a name that kept him away from the blessings of God.
Even though he stole his brothers blessing, he could not be blessed because he had an identity problem.
Jacob didn't have to still his brothers blessing if he knew who he was.
By agreeing with his mother to help God, they destroyed permanently the peace of their home.
His brother never saw eye to eye with his mother.
Jocob became a fugitive and his mother never saw him again, therefore by that singular act, she lost her two children.
On this special night, Jacob wrestled in prayer with an angel who revealed his true identity to him.
If he had know that he was a man who prevailed over the terrestrials and celestials, he would not have stolen what he already had.
Beloved, who are you?
What is your name in the spirit?
God bless you.
With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.
Your case is not bigger than God.
May you have a God filled day in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Your Victory is already guaranteed
It is well, do not give up, with God all things are possible
