TEXT LUKE 2:25-30
TOPIC : HOPE IN DIFFICULT TIMES
[25]And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
[26]And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
[27]And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
[28]Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
[29]Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
[30]For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
Simeon was not a priest, he only loved God so much that he was willing to become a channel through which God will birth His biggest dream upon the earth.
He was an unknown intercessor who prayed ceaselessly that the plans of God would happen on the earth.
When bad things seem to be happening uncontrollably, we can hopefully begin to intercede on behalf of our world.
For most of us, it's all about meeting our unending needs.
Satan is very smart, it takes the wisdom of God to outsmart this ancient dragon.
He is gifted with experience that spans over thousands of years.
He waits for us at the gate. As we enter into this realm of existence, he begins to market to us the pursuit of gold.
He deceives us that our main purpose on the earth is to pursue our pleasures.
Once he is successful, we are lost.
Beloved, we are not called to seek for things, we are called to seek for God and His righteousness, then other things begin to seek for us.
