TEXT MATTHEW 3;17
TOPIC : IDENTITY AND PREDESTINATION
[16]And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
[17]And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Shortly after the baptism of our Lord Jesus, He was driven into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
The first temptation from the devil showed that the battle Jesus fought was a battle of identity.
"And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread " (Matthew 4:2-3).
The devil was fighting to confuse the second Adam about His identity.
Satan asked Jesus, if you are the son of God, command these stones to be made bread, He expected that Jesus would turn the stones into bread to prove that He was the son of God.
If Christ had done that, that would simply mean that Jesus doubted who He was.
Jesus knew who He was by revelation.
"You are my beloved son, with whom I am well pleased."
Beloved, do you really know who you are?
Whenever you discover the answer, Satan abandon you for other preys.
God bless you.
With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.
Your case is not bigger than God.
May you have a God filled day in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Your Victory is already guaranteed
It is well, do not give up, with God all things are possible
