THE AUTHORITY OF A CHILD OF GOD.

 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

What's in a name?

I heard this story from a great man of God many years ago.

There was a man whose daughter was demonized.

Often she would take off and the man would run after her and would stop her from hurting herself.

This went on for years because the man loved the daughter so much.

As the man got older, it was becoming increasingly difficult to catch up with his young agile daughter.

Once again the devil ceased her again and she started running towards the river to drown herself.

Her father chased after her, but could not catch up with her sleep.

She was now by the close to bridge and was about jumping and the man screamed, "Jesus, hold her for me".

Immediately, a force pulled her back, struck her down and drove out the devil from her.

She screamed convulsed and slept off.

When she woke up, she was perfectly well.

The man stood there for a long time wondering why he didn't use this name all these years.

There is truly power in that holy name, Jesus.

Try it out today, taste and see that the Lord is good.

What's in a name?

I cannot go to Aso Rock in Abuja and begin to give orders.

No one will listen to me because there is no authority assigned to my name.

I actually would be risking being arrested and thrown into the prison without trial.

What is in a name?

There is everything in a name.

Some names contain power and authority.

The name of Jesus is such a name that has so much power and authority.

This name carries enough power to change any situation.it is a name with the highest authority in Heaven and on the earth.

In the spirit realm where the instrument of warfare are not canal, the weapons of war are authority based.

Those authorities are hosted in names.

When such names are mentioned, it reflects the level of authority of the owner.

The name of Jesus carries the highest authority.

When that name is used against anything, that thing goes down.

Nothing has ever withstood the name of Jesus and nothing will ever withstand the name.

As you begin today to use it against your attackers, you will begin to experience rest.

TEXT : ACTS 4:6-10

THE AUTHORITY OF A CHILD OF GOD.

"And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.

And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole."

Dearly beloved, the Jewish authority were dumbfounded when they were told that the crippled beggar was healed by the name of Jesus.

Led by Satan they had earlier bribed the soldiers who watched the tomb of Jesus and told them to say that His disciples stole His body in order to deny His resurrection.

Dying for us was not a major threat to Satan.

Men have tied for their wives, children and even friends, but none has resurrected.

Satan was terrified about resurrection.

Jesus received a name that is above every and any other name.

That name ended the reign and rascality of Satan on the earth forever.

The Jewish council being privy to this information and acting for the devil warned them never to use the name of Jesus again. 

"And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus." (Acts 4:18)

Beloved, if there was nothing in the name of Jesus, why is Satan and all his agents threatened by that name in the mouth of a believer?

THE AUTHORITY OF A CHILD OF GOD.

 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all."

Peter and John had gone to the temple to pray but met a familiar beggar who begged them for alms.

Peter and John commanded the crippled beggar to walk in the name of Jesus and immediately, he leaped up as Peter pulled him and began to walk.

In defense, Peter declared that they were not supermen but we're able to produce such result by using the name of Jesus and by having faith in the name.

Beloved, this week is our week of supernatural encounters.

You must go out and heal somebody this week in Jesus mighty name.

THE AUTHORITY OF A CHILD OF GOD.

 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."

Dearly beloved, Jesus Blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against you, which was contrary to you.

He took it out of the way and nailed it to his cross.

 He dealt with principalities and powers, He shamed publicly after a humiliating defeat.

Jesus went down to hell as a man and disarmed the devil of the authority he stole from Adam and Eve with deceit.

Jesus stripped him of all powers.

All that is left with him is deception.

The Lord after humiliating the Satan, turned to man, the body of the church which He is the head and handed over all the powers to him.

Man can by delegated authority, command stunted hands to grow instantly.

He can command amputated legs to be restored.

Man can call forth things across long distances and have them delivered to him by the spirits through routes created by Divine energy.

If a man who didn't have the authority of the living Christ could command the ☀️ and moon 🌙 to stand still for twenty four hours, then greater works are expected from you.

Beloved, begin your life of exploits by clipping the wings of all the demons running amok in your territory.

Command those your wayward children to come back.

Command that wayward husband to return home.

Speak to that your debilitating health to halt it's derailment.

You have both the power and authority.

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all

Do you know the hope of His calling? 

It takes the eyes of your understanding being opened in order to know what we as new creations can do in Christ Jesus.

Do you realize the magnitude of power available to us who believe?

The new creation can do anything, he can change any situation.

He can turn disadvantages to advantages.

I have seen the dead raised back to life, SS turned to AA, blind eyes opened and deaf ears opened.

These things I have stated should be the everyday normal in the life of a child of God.

Develop a hunger for the supernatural and you will humiliate the impossible.

THE AUTHORITY OF A CHILD OF GOD.

 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

A believer is a person of power.

He/she is a person dreaded by devils.

He is an impossible case in their book.

When they sense him from far away, they take off because when he calls that name Jesus, coals of fire still rains down.

The believer carries a mouth that they cannot stand nor challenge.

The believer's mouth is a very dangerous weapon.

It's more dangerous than a bazooka.

When was the last time you used your own against an issue , a mountain standing against you?

It's time to begin to issues commands with your mouth.

Beloved, When was the last time you prayed for a sick friend, sibling or spouse?.

Have you turned a doctor at home ?

Do you now have more drugs than the pharmacies?

What are the signs that the bible said that it should follow those who believe?

They will cast out devils, speak with new tongues, take up serpents, poison can not harm them and if they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover.

Beloved, if you are not living this kind of life, you are yet to enjoy the believer's life.

Next time a sick friend comes to you, lay your hand and declare healing in the name of Jesus Christ.

You will soon realize that this power is already resident in you.

And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where."

The bible said that He have them power and authority, armed with just these two weapons, they went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing every where.

Beloved, what has happened to this power?

Has He taken it back to heaven?

Has our hunger for fire been replaced by fireworks at the alter?

Have we not adopted technology in place of divine presence.

The big difference is that while one works wonders, the other destroys both the spirit and the flesh.

These men who were sent out were all new in ministry.

None of them had stayed with Him for up to one year.

Why is it that our auditoriums are now arena for new revelations while the old one has not been practiced.

Every service day, our people gather to hear something new.

How have we practiced the ones we have heard.

Our churches have become glorified classrooms.

God forbid.

Beloved, this week determine to become a commander to everything around you.

Remember, everything has intelligence, both animate and inanimate.

They all hear the voice of the Master and they have a divine command to bow.

They will bow to your commands in Jesus mighty name.

THE AUTHORITY OF A CHILD OF GOD.

 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant."

God gave to the believer both power and authority.

We seem more engrossed with power.

Power is the ability to do something while authority is the power or right to give orders, make decisions and enforce obedience.

Power is sweet, this includes the wielding of demonic powers but the power of God is the sweetest.

There is however one thing that is sweeter than power, it is authority.

When God gives you authority, you become a "small god" (psalm 82:6).

God sent Moses to go and deliver the children of Israel from Egypt. By that mandate, Moses became a god unto Egypt and Pharaoh.

God raised Jeremiah as an agent of change and he received a mouth that can root out , destroy, pool down and  to build and to plant.

Such is the dimension of power that God can give to His children.

Beloved, do you realize that this power is lying dormant inside of you.

You can't be carrying high tension electric power yet living in darkness, God forbid.

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

We serve an ever faithful Father.

He is a father like no other one.

He is a covenant keeper.

"And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:" (1 Kings 8:24)

He said that He has engraved us in His palms.

 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me."(Isaiah 49:16)

Do you understand what it means to carve something in your palms.

It's like a tattoo, no one forgets a visible tattoo.

God said that He has tattooed us in the palms of His hand and is forever watching to ensure our protection.

BEING A COMMITTED CHILD OF GOD.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

God does not forsake His own.

He takes pride in delivering to the uttermost those who come to Him through His son Jesus Christ.

When it looks as though they have been finished, He lifts them up in order to demonstrate to them that it pays to serve Him.

He remembers them even at old age.

 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.

They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; (PSALM 62:14-15)

The righteous is not forsaken in his sickbed.

The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. !Psalm 41:3)

Finally the old prophet/ the psalmist declared that he had carefully observed all through his life, but he never saw the righteous forsaken nor the children of the righteous ending up badly.

I believe him, do you believe?

And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

Abraham made a scary commitment to God that made God decide that Abraham's posterity would never be put to shame.

Listen to what the sovereign Lord declared in Isaiah 45:17-19  "But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right."

God has often spoken to me, reassuring me that He will never forsake anyone who has cut a covenant of service with Him.

Beloved, if you dare to serve God with all your heart, He will make you a focal point for your generation.

When the world think you are finished, that will be your rising.

BEING A COMMITTED CHILD OF GOD.

One of  the greatest attributes of God is that He never forget any of your deeds of kindness.

He had a diary popularly called the book of remembrance.

God treasures commitment greatly because He does not have enough of such men/women.

Commitment is not a cheap commodity, it is so scarce that gold is easier to find.

When God finds this in a man, He does everything to reward the person.

He would bury a whole national army in the sea just for you to earn your liberty.

He will surely demonstrate who He is in your life.

BEING A COMMITTED CHILD OF GOD.

 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Beloved, if you want to see what separates God's children and the godless, look at their pursuits.

If you show me what you seek after, I can tell with accuracy where you belong.

God said that He knows that we need those things the world is running after, but He does not want us to seek after them.

He said that we are divinely ordained to receive them as an addition by the force of magnetic attraction created by our commitment to God.

There are only two things a child of God is designed to seek after by default, the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Once we successfully do this, the divine law of addition will be activated automatically in our favor.

TEXT HEBREWS 11:32-34

THE EXPLOITS OF FAITH.

‭‭

[32] And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, [33] who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, [34] quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.

Gideon was an Jewish warrior who was turned into a wimp as a result of the rampaging Midianites.

He was reduced by fear to a humiliated and defeated weakling.

In the book of ‭‭Judges‬ ‭6:11‭-‬12‬, God sent His word through an Angel to Gideon.

" The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. [12] When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”

Gideon received the word of God, mixed it with faith according to HEBREWS 4:2, and was turned into a warrior who subdued kingdoms.

"For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it."

THE EXPLOITS OF FAITH.

[32] And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, 

[33] who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions,

 [34] quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.

Dearly beloved, the writer was overwhelmed by the exploits of these elders that it was becoming difficult to catalogue all.

Their exploits were not isolated.

They were the daily normal for these patriarchs.

Beloved, you are the offspring of these giants of faith, you can never be a dwarf of faith.

These men through faith conquered kingdoms.

They shut the mouths of lions, they administered justice.

You too can administer justice in any matter where Satan is messing up destinies around you.

It's your right in Christ Jesus.

Every bad case around you is calling for your rod to reverse the situation.

Your faith can do it.

TEXT MARK 2:3-13

THE EXPLOITS OF FAITH.

[3]And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

[4]And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

[5]When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

[6]But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

[7]Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

[8]And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

[9]Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?

[10]But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

[11]I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.

[12]And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

Our faith is a strong magnet that attracts the help of God to us irrespective of our gender, race and geographical location.

Faith is a currency of global convertibility.

It can be used to pay for every and anything.

It is used across all markets.

It pays for chocolates the same way it pays for a sick body.

It pays for house rent, cars and even a dead marriage.

Faith releases an aroma that makes the carrier irresistible to people who are carrying their help.

Faith is irresistable.

Faith never fails.

Those men carrying their friend had an irresistable attraction that our Lord and the whole host of Heaven could not resist.

Faith is a spiritual force that is capable of changing whatever situation a person is going through or finds himself in.

Faith is the believer's last card in the battles of life.

It is what the elders used to obtain a good report in all their endeavours.

It has never failed.

The friends of the sick man had a last chance to save their friend.

They demonstrated their faith by breaking the roof of the house where Jesus was teaching a group of people.

Jesus seeing their faith, healed their friend.

Jesus said, if thou cans't believe, all things are possible to he who believes.

Do you believe?

THE PREVAILING POWER OF PRAYER.

[2]Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name;

[3]Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

The power of prayer is the power of God.

Your prayers move the heart and hand of God.

Because our God is the almighty, the power of prayer is limitless.

[17]Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: (Jeremiah 32:17)

The God of Heaven said "call upon me, I will answer you".

The above statement is the confidence of the believer in prayer.

The one who answers prayers encouraged us to pray to Him and expect an answer.

God never says no when our prayer is according to His will.

The bible declared very boldly in 2 Corinthians 1:19-20,

[19]For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.

[20]For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
