TEXT : ISAIAH 57:15
HEALING FOR A DAMAGED SOULS
"For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones."
Friends, there is something terrible that protracted pains and long standing affliction does to the souls of many people.
IT KILLS SOME AND DAMAGES OTHERS.
While God wants us to be dead to the things of this world, He wants our souls to be fully alive.
A dead soul is a soul that cannot be revived even by the gospel.
A dead soul does not expect any new thing again.
His heart is locked.
A damaged soul can be caused by betrayal from a highly trusted friend, so the victim decides never to open his heart again to anyone.
This becomes a defensive mechanism to protect themselves from being hurt, not knowing that they have just been armed by satan.
Many people never recover from rape, they need spiritual therapy.
Some even though they are in marriage still find themselves unable to trust any man, including their husbands, they see in all men the face of their aggressors.
Most abused people, including those abused by their parents respond to life both with fear and suspicion.
These victims move around with damaged souls.
Unfortunately, hurting people hurt others.
If they are in your company, every of your action is viewed with great suspicion.
Your main job will be to prove and reassure them that you mean well, yet they will never believe you because their souls are damaged.
Those who are married to such people will tell you their experiences.
But their is hope if for a tree that is uprooted.
God has a promise of healing for these people.
I pray that you receive healing in Jesus mighty name.
