TEXT : MATTHEW 26 : 36-39
36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Jesus my Lord at Gethsemane was sorrowful unto death. Gethsemane was a valley of renegotiation. Satan tempted Jesus to renegotiate the human salvation.
It was a painful experience because He was going to die.
He had had a bonding relationship with His disciples who had become His brothers. Now, He was going to miss them.
Jesus loved His disciples and then His humanity became overwhelming.
Satan was in Gethsemane trying to convince Christ that their could be other ways for the salvation of man to be achieved. What ensured that our salvation was not negotiated was the trust that Jesus has on His Father.
Our Lord yielded His will to the superior will of His Father. You may be going through a Gethsemane experience now. Consider suspending your will for the higher will of our father.
It is my prayer that you will come out on the brighter side of life in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.
Your case is not bigger than God.
May you have a God filled Sunday service in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Your Victory is already guaranteed
It is well, do not give up, with God all things are possible
(Please be a blessing to seven persons by sending to them our devotionals)
