TEXT  2 KINGS 1:8-10

TOPIC : IDENTITY AND PREDESTINATION

[8]And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.

[9]Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.

[10]And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

Dearly beloved, Elijah took the greatest risk of his life when he told the captain of fifty,  *"If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty."

And fire fell from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

Just imagine that fire didn't come.

Elijah's case would have been worse than that of John the Baptist.

When Elijah said, if I be a man of God, he was simply affirming who he was.

He was not in doubt who he was.

He was in order words saying, that if fire does not come, know that I am not a man of God.

However if fire did not come, his head would have been roasted by the captain of fifty.

Lack of personal identity is the result of a fireless life.

A fireless life will be bereft of signs and wonders.

You would at best be a pretender, you could claim to be a healer but you would be hiding in the night to rush your family members to hospital.

A fireless man would only end up a dramatist and a motivational speaker.

In his quiet times, he wonders if the scripture is really  true.

You would be hiding under the identity of others to be heard.

The bitter truth is that until you understand your identity, your voice will not be heard.

Hearing your voice is the result of a commandment from Heaven.

Concerning Jesus the son of God, this command came in the book of Luke 9:35.

"And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him."

Beloved, the world is waiting for your identity so you can manifest.

God bless you.

With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.

Your case is not bigger than God.

May you have a God filled day in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Your Victory is already guaranteed

It is well, do not give up, with God all things  are possible

TEXT  2 KINGS 6:15-17

TOPIC : IDENTITY AND PREDESTINATION

[15]And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

[16]And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

[17]And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Dearly beloved, the king of Syria warred against Israel, but each time they plan the strategy for their attack, it will be revealed to Elisha by the spirit of God.

Elisha so much frustrated the efforts of the king of Syria that the king sent a troop to arrest the prophet, dead or alive.

When the servant of the prophet saw that they were surrounded by a troop, he screamed, " master we are finished".

Prophet Elisha prayed to God to open the eyes of his servant that he may see the actual situation on ground.

When God did open his eye, he discovered that the whole mountain was sorrounded  by a host of Angelic forces.

He was afraid because he did not know who he was.

Elisha was not afraid because he knew who owned his life.

Beloved, who are you?

God bless you.

With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.

Your case is not bigger than God.

TEXT JUDGES 6:11-14

TOPIC : IDENTITY AND PREDESTINATION

[11]And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

[12]And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

[13]And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

[14]And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?

Gideon was a liberator who saw himself as a captive.

He was so fearful and saw himself and his people as being utterly forsaken.

It took an angelic visitation for Gideon to realize who he was.

He did not know that he was the captain of the Lord's army.

That single visitation revealed to Gideon his true identity.

He immediately sprang from nobody to somebody,

From the backside of the wilderness to the palace.

You can become like Gideon if you discover who you are.

When you search out your real identity, you will become a person that can withstand the worst that the Satan can throw at them.

God bless you.

With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.

TEXT JOHN 1:19-23

TOPIC : IDENTITY AND PREDESTINATION

[19]And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

[20]And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

[21]And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

[22]Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

[23]He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

John the Baptist started out very well because he understood his identity.

Many people thought that he was the Christ but he did not claim who he was not.

His understanding of his identity was so strong that it's power resonated through his words.

His words convicted the worst sinners and brought them to their knees in repentance.

Trouble began when he lost his identity in the midst of his crisis.

"And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

"When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?(Luke 7:19-20)

Here was the same John who baptized Jesus doubting the person of Jesus.

What happened to john?

How could he have lost his identity?

Where did he lose it?

Jesus said he was the greatest  man born by a woman but he lost his head after losing his identity to the carnal dance of a teenager.

What a disaster.

God bless you.

With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.

TEXT MATTHEW 3;17

TOPIC : IDENTITY AND PREDESTINATION

[16]And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

[17]And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Shortly after the baptism of our Lord Jesus, He was driven into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

The first temptation from the devil showed that the battle Jesus fought was a battle of identity.

"And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread " (Matthew 4:2-3).

The devil was fighting to confuse the second Adam about His identity.

Satan asked Jesus, if you are the son of God, command these stones to be made bread, He expected that Jesus would turn the stones into bread to prove that He was the son of God.

If Christ had done that, that would simply mean that Jesus doubted who He was.

Jesus knew who He was by revelation.

"You are my beloved son, with whom I am well pleased."

Beloved, do you really know who you are?

Whenever you discover the answer, Satan abandon you for other preys.

God bless you.

With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.

Your case is not bigger than God.

TEXT GENESIS 1:27-28

TOPIC : IDENTITY AND PREDESTINATION

[27]So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

[28]And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Identity can be defined biblically in terms of how God sees us and what He does for us.

It also refers to the relationship He has with us and the destiny He appoints for us.

God made us who we are so that we can make known to our world who He is.

Our identity is actually for the sake of showing who our Daddy is.

We are therefore branded in order to promote Him.

Identity therefore basically refers to who you are.

CHILD OF GOD, WHO ARE YOU?

The answer to the question of "who you are" is the answer to the crisis of life.

As we travel through scripture, we will discover that crisis submits to identity.

The failure of Adam and Eve was the failure of identity.

Satan marketed to them what they already had.

He told them that if they eat the fruit of that tree, they would be like God.

What they didn't know was that they were already exactly like God.

They lost their greatest battle on the grounds of a distorted identity.

Beloved, do you really know who you are?

God bless you.

With the God I serve, nothing shall be impossible.

Your case is not bigger than God.

May you have a God filled day in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
